The natural layout of this bathroom was screaming out for a large walk in shower, without the unnecessary appearance of shower trays, doors, glass or frames. The customer needed some persuasion to have a patterned floor finish running throughout, but was overjoyed with the final finish – a stylish, inviting wash space that doubles up as the downstairs toilet.
For the minimalist, fuss free appearance of a wet room shower design, a surprising amount of work is required to ensure the space is water tight, functional and drains efficiently. With this particular wet room, we needed to chase the waste pipe into the concrete floor, through the wall and into the nearby drain. With a wet room style tray, it’s imperative that the water drains away quicker than it reaches the edge of the falls.
